Specialising exclusively in the field of weight loss treatment and surgery, Dr Evren uses minimally invasive surgery solutions, performing all obesity surgeries using laparoscopy under general anaesthesia.
Laparoscopic or keyhole surgery avoids the need for a large incision, as in open surgery; instead the operations are performed through small incisions using long thin surgical equipment and video cameras.
A minimally invasive weight loss surgery means quicker recovery time, shorter hospitalisation and fewer risks. Other benefits may be; less pain, faster return to your life, less blood, less scarring and reduced risk of infection.
The outcome is still you – but a healthier, happier you.
At Dr Evren & Partners, we also offer MiniMizer Ring®, a certified gastric implant, to our patients that is designed to increase the long-term effectiveness of gastric procedures.
All types of weight loss surgery can help you lose a significant amount of weight, but they each have advantages and disadvantages.
It is important that you consider all the options, and know the risks and benefits, before deciding to proceed with weight loss surgery.
To learn more about what procedure is right for you and whether you qualify, book a consultation with Dr Evren.
A minimally invasive procedure that involves the removal of a portion of the stomach that produces ghrelin, a hormone that stimulates appetite and promotes fat storage.
Following a gastric sleeve surgery, patients cannot eat as much as they could before and they feel full sooner.
Results in a smaller stomach and re-routed portion of the small intestines. This might be an ideal surgery option for patients with associated metabolic illnesses, such a type 2 diabetes.
Following a gastric bypass surgery, patients feel fuller sooner and do not absorb as many calories from the food they eat.
Mini gastric bypass is a relatively new procedure which combines the techniques used in gastric bypass and gastric sleeve.
It aims to make the stomach much smaller by using a clever loop so when the patient eats food, it misses out a short segment of the upper gut.
A non-surgical and non-invasive procedure, gastric balloon is one of the most common of all bariatric procedures worldwide.
The patient undergoes general anaesthesia and the procedure involves Dr Evren endoscopically placing a balloon into the stomach to assist with portion control. The balloon is removed after six months or one year, depending on the type of balloon used.
MMR is an option that patients can decide to have with the sleeve, bypass or mini bypass surgeries. It is possible to have the MMR placed after your surgery (i.e. a few years later) but more common to get it at the time of your initial operation.
MMR is a safe edition to laparoscopic weight loss surgeries. At Dr Evren & Partners, we offer it as an additional service because there have been many studies showing that patients lose more weight with a ring device placed around the gastric pouch at the time of the gastric surgery and it can reduce the risk of weight regain.
Dr Evren may advise this course of action in order to correct or improve upon a previous weight loss surgery that has not produced results or resulted in complications such as, reflux, malnutrition or weight re-gain.
Prior to revising a primary bariatric procedure, Dr Evren and a multidisciplinary team would extensively evaluate the factors of the lack of weight loss or weight regain and advise accordingly.
Additionally, we also specialise in a number of disciplines and provide the following surgeries:
- SADI-S Duodenal Switch: (single anastomosis duodeno–ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy)
- Metabolic Surgery (also known as Surgery for Type 2 Diabetes)
- Surgery for Reflux or Hiatal Hernia
The type and the cost of weight loss surgery are dependent on many different factors including; the overall complexity of your condition, other obesity-related health issues you might be struggling with, as well as other individual characteristics, including the amount of weight loss to achieve your desired results.
These personalised factors are different for everyone and hence a "one size fits all" approach would be flawed and not cover the range for all surgical options.
Above, you will find the range of costs for different surgical procedures Dr Evren provides. These costs cover the surgery and all related costs including; your pre-surgery tests and examinations, your stay in the hospital for five to seven days (in a private room), medications, meals and replacement shakes prepared as part of your special eating plan, and aftercare and support to achieve and maintain the desired results.
The above costs also cover the stay (in your hospital room) and meals of any companion, you may wish to bring with you.
In addition to this, we would be happy to organise airport transfers, hotel stays, as well as the purchase of medication, supplements and shakes for the post-operative period (1-3 months after you return back home), if needed.
The quickest way to accurately find out how much a procedure will cost is to have a no-obligation, one to one consultation with Dr Evren.
